After a recent conversation with a friend, about game review scores, I’ve decided to have a bit of a rant… To me a game review score is a guidance tool, 1 – horrendous, 5 – average, 10 – perfect. A review score should be fair, and the person reviewing & scoring should be able to justify the score they’ve decided to award the game. I read quite a few reviews, and I do pay attention to the review score the game has been given, but I wouldn’t allow someone else’s opinion on a game to influence my decision on whether … Continue reading Reviews aren’t always right…
P!nk – The King is Dead… I know for a fact that one person (it’s Ian/Watson, obviously) is gonna mock me for this, but oh well. I actually really like ‘P!nk’, and I think this song is awesome. Some great lines in this track, the title being one of them. Enjoy =) Continue reading …And unlike your anatomy, I’m glad I had it in me.
‘You must be ‘avin a tin baarth!’ Day 21. I actually only watched this film last night, and I have to say – for a film I had no expectations of, it really did entertain me. So much so, that I will be buying it, once it’s released. It’s a horror-comedy, I like it call these types of films ‘zom-edies’ – it’s along the same lines as Shaun of the Dead, and Doghouse – both a little more tame than this film, as there’s plenty of (hilariously) severed limbs. I’m afraid my ramble does contain some ‘spoilers’ for the film. … Continue reading Sar’s ShOcktober// Cockneys vs Zombies
Day 10. Anyone who knows me, or who has perhaps visited the ESC_Verse before, knows that I’m slightly obsessed with zombies. Which is why today, I’m gonna ramble about my favourite zombie game modes. ‘What fun!’, I hear you cheer. You will notice that games such as Left 4 Dead 1/2, etcetc are not mentioned…because they’re getting mentioned later in the month, you nosey sod! God! Let’s start with Halo’s ‘Infection’ or ‘Living Dead’ playlists. Fast, frantic, fun! My 3 favourite f’s, actually. The point of this playlist is to either kill the survivors if you spawn as a zombie, … Continue reading Sar’s ShOcktober// Some Zombie Game Modes What I Like.
Day 9. I’m not usually a big fan of the Wii, but I admit that there are some fun games for it. Fun games, such as HotD: Overkill – the perfect party game for Halloween! It’s played out like the dodgy B-horror films I love so much. It’s quirky, weird, disturbing, hilarious, fun – what more could you want from a video game? The crackle-y soundtrack, screen flickers, giant boobed nurse zombies…it’s just hilarious. The game has some very oddball characters/enemies. Seriously…some of them are pretty disgusting. Like ‘Mother’…yea…that was a damaging experience. Oh…Jasper too, another traumatising experience. Seriously, you’ve gotten … Continue reading Sar’s ShOcktober// House of the Dead: Overkill
‘See you in the graveyard at midnight!‘ Day 7. ‘I Walked With A Zombie’ by Wednesday 13. It’s not deep, it’s catchy as Hell, it makes you wanna jump around, it’s fun. It’s fright-tastic. Not going into loads of detail about Mr. 13, as he features quite a bit, later in the month =) I Walked With A Zombie by Wednesday 13 Happily Ever Cadaver as, again, it’s catchy as Hell. It’s fun music, it doesn’t always have to be meaningful. Enjoy it. Kudos to the creator of the HEC video, it’s so cute xD I deny anyone who says … Continue reading Sar’s ShOcktober// I walked with a zombie…
I think the ‘Great Gamerscore Race 2012’ is dead. Truth is, I’m just not that fussed about achievements/gamerscore =/ if I get an achievement, fair enough. But yea, I’m not going out of my way to unlock them. I’m a gamer who wants to enjoy gaming, not keep track of how big or small my gamerscore is. I can understand why people do enjoy improving their GS, but I’m just not one of those people, no matter how hard I’ve tried to be. There’s not really any motivation for me to try to meet the 100k deadline. The friendship that … Continue reading The Not So Great Gamerscore Race 2012
