Things I learnt from an evening of Halo…

It will come to no surprise to anyone that has me on their XBL friends list, that I play a lot of Halo. So yea. I played for awhile last night, and learnt a few things… Never play hide and seek with a Banshee. I had a good run, but the player eventually crashed the Banshee into the ground, just to kill me. Deadpool is someone you want on your team. Trust me on this. While playing SWAT on Complex, stalk your opponent, then assassinate them. And either giggle or do a victory jig. Over their corpse. Consequently, don’t spend too … Continue reading Things I learnt from an evening of Halo…

Sar’s ShOcktober// Zombified Conversations

Day 25. So I’m currently sat in on the XBox360 dashboard, in a party chat with @folicacid aka Ian, and we’re just chatting about the usual – gaming, music, the zombie apocalypse, and ultimate downfall of civilisation as we know it. Typical Thursday night conversation. Now, when I say ‘that game trailer‘, I am of course referring to the Dead Island trailer…yes, that trailer. It’s a truly amazing trailer, that trailer got me excited about gaming again. For so long, I’d been feeling quite ‘oh gaming…yea…whatever.’, then I saw the Dead Island trailer. The whole concept of the trailer, being in reverse, … Continue reading Sar’s ShOcktober// Zombified Conversations

Sar’s ShOcktober// Game Gore

Day 17. So yesterday’s ShOcktober was all about Isaac Clarke, and how awesome Dead Space is. And all of his brutal deaths, got me thinking on some of the most brutal video game deaths that I’ve seen, along with the creepiest moments. So yea, today is gonna be a mash-up of all the video game scenes that have freaked me out, or made my inner Jigsaw squeal with bloody delight… F.E.A.R – sadly the video is really dark, but it sort of adds to the tension. The overall death is truly brutal though, and creepy as Hell! This is why … Continue reading Sar’s ShOcktober// Game Gore

Sar’s ShOcktober// ‘How I Died’ by Isaac Clarke

Day 16. I’ve written about Dead Space 1&2 before, but they’re such good games, that I’m mentioning them again. Seriously, you need a scary game to play over Halloween? Look no further than the DS series, I actually had to play DS2 with my gaming partner, at the time, while in party…squealing at her, whenever I got scared aka constantly. So yea, both games have some brutal, and often interesting death scenes, for Isaac (I love Mr. Clarke <3) and for randoms…let’s take a look: Yea…not overly brutal, but really rather odd thing to stumble across, while you’re traversing the … Continue reading Sar’s ShOcktober// ‘How I Died’ by Isaac Clarke

Sar’s ShOcktober// CoD Zombies Soundtrack: Elena Siegman [+Treyarch Sound]

Day 12. ‘It’s a mere side effect…everything is normal.’ The ESC_Verse is in no way affiliated with Group 935, I just support their continued experiments on the living and/or dead…Oh, and their most appreciated offering of the ray gun ;-P Treyarch Sound, vocalist: Elena Siegman – The One (which goes with the Shi No Numa map. Locate the phone, answer it 3 times to activate the song, and unlock the achievement ‘dead air’.) Treyarch Sound, vocalist: Elena Siegman – Beauty of Annihilation (which goes with the der Reise map. Finding 4 (I think it’s 4? Going off memory here, not 100% sure) … Continue reading Sar’s ShOcktober// CoD Zombies Soundtrack: Elena Siegman [+Treyarch Sound]

Sar’s ShOcktober// Some Zombie Game Modes What I Like.

Day 10. Anyone who knows me, or who has perhaps visited the ESC_Verse before, knows that I’m slightly obsessed with zombies. Which is why today, I’m gonna ramble about my favourite zombie game modes. ‘What fun!’, I hear you cheer. You will notice that games such as Left 4 Dead 1/2, etcetc are not mentioned…because they’re getting mentioned later in the month, you nosey sod! God! Let’s start with Halo’s ‘Infection’ or ‘Living Dead’  playlists. Fast, frantic, fun! My 3 favourite f’s, actually. The point of this playlist is to either kill the survivors if you spawn as a zombie, … Continue reading Sar’s ShOcktober// Some Zombie Game Modes What I Like.

Sar’s ShOcktober// Rapture.

‘Would you kindly…?’   Day 6. Today I’m going to write about Rapture, the setting of the video games BioShock 1&2. To this day, BioShock 1 is easily the most atmospheric game I’ve ever played. The whole concept of Rapture is just amazing, and I’m actually gutted that BioShock Infinite won’t be set under water. I’m gonna pretty much assume that anyone reading this, has prior knowledge of the BioShock games, and knows the storyline. Which I’m not gonna chat about, as I just wanna fangirl all about how beautiful Rapture looks.   Rapture was created as a Utopia, … Continue reading Sar’s ShOcktober// Rapture.
