…Just Add Zombies.

Zombies seem to very much be the ‘in’ thing, especially at the moment. Your game is getting stale…? Just add some zombie-esq DLC, problem solved! Don’t get me wrong – I love zombies as much as the next person, but they don’t have to be included into everything. Most of the people I’ve talked to about Black Ops (new Call of Duty, released 9th November), are more excited for the zombie mode, than the campaign or the multiplayer.

So many games have/are throwing zombies into the mix, that it’s starting to feel really unoriginal, at least to me. Borderlands, an absolutely brilliant game – has zombie DLC. Red Dead Redemption, not so great multiplayer – so it’s getting zombie DLC. CoD: WaW (Call of Duty: World at War) has nazi zombies – which I personally love, but for the purposes of this post, it must be included. Then of course there’s the numerous games which are entirely zombie-centric: Left 4 Dead 1&2, Resident Evil series, House of the Dead series, Plants vs Zombies, Dead Rising 1&2, OneChanbara series. There are so many games about zombies, or just featuring them…yet we hunger for more.

Surely there are other creatures that could be used? How about a Werewolf…? I’d totally kill werewolves. Or aliens! I could go for headshotting some aliens. I’d suggest vampires, but they’ve been given a bad rep recently, thanks to a certain sparkling neck biter -.-

…On second thoughts, I think I’d better just be satisfied with the shambling undead.
